Welcome to this week’s installment of Kim’s Stuff! Last year during the NLDS our family was lucky enough to take in a game. While DeckACards and DeckACards Jr were busy trying to get autographs, Lil DeckACards and me strolled around Busch Stadium enjoying free Family Ice Cream day in Ford Plaza. While there, I noticed the Memorabilia Store was having a Table Sale and everything was $20. They had Autographed Balls, Photos, etc. – and then I noticed a stack of white boxes (I had to know what was in them!).
Inside each box was a piece of the Home Dugout Bench from the 2006 Cardinals season with a World Series Coin embedded in the wood . I knew right away that DeckACards would love it and quickly bought one to put away for his birthday the following month. I wish you could have seen his face when he opened the box and saw what was inside!
I sure hope they do this again to commemorate the 2011 World Series!
BONUS FIND! This week, my brother-in-law asked me to help him find some baseball protective screens or “baseball L screens” for my niece. She is quite the softball player and spends most of her summer playing for a competitive traveling team. Of course, I had the same reaction many of you had – “Uh…what are Baseball L Screens?” But I did some quick research and found THESE BASEBALL L SCREENS from JUGS SPORTS. Turns out, they were voted “Best of Show” ABCA, 2012! So check ‘em out if you’re looking for baseball and/or softball training aids.
